Welcome,
My
name is Daniel Dragnev and I am the developer of Casino
Personnel Manager.
I
have been in the casino business for over 15 years.
I started as a dealer in Eastern Europe in 1990
and eventually made my way up to Pit Manager and then
Assistant Casino Manager. For the past 10 years
I have traveled and worked throughout South and North
America, always noting the different ways each casino
was run. During this time, what began as a mere
interest in computers grew to the extent that I studied
to finally become a Microsoft Certified Professional
in 2000 and a Microsoft Certified Solution Developer
in 2001.
During
my years in the casino business, I was often in charge
of scheduling, where I worked with several scheduling
programs. They were all decent programs, developed
by prestigious software companies, but they all had
one weakness: lack of flexibility.
These
programs were each developed for a specific casino at
a particular point in time, but as soon as something
changed, they became obsolete. Almost everything
was hard-coded, so to make even the smallest change,
the management had to contact the software company and
pay large amounts of money to modify, reinstall, and
test the program, not to mention train the personnel.
This
is just too time consuming and expensive, and a lot
of the casinos prefer to just let their schedulers struggle
with these nearly useless programs. This situation
usually leads to an increase in scheduling expenses,
while the productivity and effectiveness of the
the scheduling staff drops drastically.
Keeping
all of these frustrating issues in mind, I created CPM.
